Cincinnati Bengals Rookie quarterback Joe Burrow suffered a serious season ending knee injury after getting his legs hit during week 11 of the NFL season against The Washington Football Team. This looked like a very serious multi ligament knee injury for the young star quarterback and in this video I'll break down the injury footage, review the mechanism, and talk about the concerning injuries. I'll also walk through what the medical team would do on the field to evaluate this serious injury.

As a die hard Raiders fan i have been keeping Burrow in prayers and i hate to see this happen, but sometimes you scratched like who is running this franchise is not the hard to figure out, you are behind the Eagles they have allowed 55 sacks, and y'all the Bengals 44 Sacks hello wtf are you thinking this is your Future and you send out there, for no Reason you not making the playoffs if anything i let my back up get as much experience he can,and maybe trade him for a second or third pick bring another OL for Burrow i mean w.e we can do to get protection,🙏🙏 i hope he comes back stronger then ever

    3. P. UNIT

I have to say the Bengals have to be the dumbest team in the NFL, listen Bengals this is your future you seen he is the real deal now,you are not playing for a playoffs spot sit the kid down and make sure 2021 you put a OL get a WR because Green is probably gone but the most important thing is protect your future......

    4. Judd Bean

Prayers to JB! Tough way to end the year, but I pray he comes back even stronger!

This injury was destined to happen. The offensive line is pathetically weak resulting in this horrific injury to a potentially Hall of Famer. As a long term Cincinnatian I am tired of watching the Bengals--- a truly Painful experience. It is a hopelessly broken team with an incompetent manager. RIP. You know Bengal business as usual.

Prayers for Joe! I tore my ACL completely (ski racing), and suffered medial meniscus damage. I used a donor graft (cadaver graft), and disappointed about the outcome with that knee reconstruction surgery. I have my next knee surgery in 2 weeks, and unfortunately, my new sports medicine doctor, doesn't think he can use a patella/hamstring/quad graft, due to the pervious surgery compromising that ability (if you need ACL reconstruction, use one of those grafts instead, as they can be up to 30% stronger than your ACTUAL ACL 😳) and I might have to use ANOTHER cadaver graft, as over time, there can be laxity in the graft, causing instability. I'm sure he has the best of the best doing the 110% of their ability 👏 Thank you for the run down of what may be happening to Joe! Keeping Joe, Dak Prescott, and Kyle Allen in my thoughts and prayers! 🙏🙏🙏🤞🤞🤞

ruined by a poor offensive line. I can't help but think they should have kept Marvin Lewis since with an actual strong arm quarterback they would go farther in the playoffs.

This was horrible. No one wanted this. I hope burrow comes through this ok.

      1. The Shamedarcher

@Shauka Hodan sure lets see here, from my research Burrow has suffered a torn ACL he has also torn his MCL in his left knee. He will need to go for reconstruction surgery very shortly. According to my research he may also need to engage in rehabilitation but could potentially be ready to start for the 2021 season. I don't think his roster spot is in danger as the Bengals used the first overall pick on him. Mind you a win against the Steelers and Ravens may but his starting role in question for 21 though for the long term health it would be best for him. 31. Needed4Reddit

I broke my Fibula and never got any word on how bad it was but I was told that if the Tibia rolled over the shelf of the ankle on the other side and if it traveled any further surgery was necessary. Does that mean I had at least one torn ligament because all he said what that the bone was migrating and to keep off it which I did. I broke it RIGHT above the outside ball of my ankle in a clean break.

    32. Shon Moody

This could be a Joe Theismann Teddy Bridgewater career ending injury. I can't imagine the pain. It's such a shame he reminds me of Marino in his rookie season but with a much worse offensive line. He would definately be a huge star next year on any other competent team. Rocket arm and accuracy. I'm a Browns fan so I've seen quarterbacks ruined by a poor offensive line. I can't help but think they should have kept Marvin Lewis since with an actual strong arm quarterback they would go farther in the playoffs.

Until I saw this close-up footage (3:27 mark), I immediately thought back to Napoleon McCallum's catastrophic hyperextension. But this footage actually shows, what my limited knowledge can determine, Burrow's knee dislocating and popping back in, once he's able to take some weight off his foot.. before much worse damage was done, like McCallum's. Thought you might get a better assessment with better footage. kgup.info/get/Xommp4KaYoBqf4M/video

    60. Brent Socie

Here is the story of a true Bengals fan.. As of this week I am a FORMER Bengals season ticket holder.. second row, over the tunnel. I'm one of the few Bengals fans that travel well and have purchased very expensive tickets to sit in the first row in many other cities..many, many times. Seattle, D.C., Indy, Miami, Cleveland.. and every year in Sh*ttsburgh. If my schedule affords it, I'm there. Also, I have talked to Bengals players, and I am a commonly photographed fan on espn, bleacher report, and other social media.. but that will end NOW. I am done spending my money inside of Paul Brown Stadium until I see a conscious effort to keep our franchise QB upright. The 5 lineman that Zac Taylor and Jim Turner put in front of Joe Burrow was a shame. Mike Brown and Duke Tobin (whatever he does) approved of this, and they all led us to believe that the O-Line would be "okay." In turn, Joe Burrow was knocked down 71 times before that hit. (The most ever through 10 games). #72 did it. I went to college at Ohio University while Joe was in high school in Athens, OH. I was extremely fortunate to watch him play ball a few times. (Go Bulldogs) So, I have been following his football career forever.. way before he walked on to OSU . It was a dream come true when he transferred to LSU, crushed all the college records, and was drafted to the Bengals. Yet, we all knew what MIGHT (and eventually would) happen. The front office failed to protect their franchise QB. He will be back but at what cost? Again..I'm die hard.. and our franchise is at a point where our "die-hards" are fed up. The locker room is fed up. All of the fans and players are unsure of what happens next. I would love to continue to spend $1,500 on a random Sunday. If our owner built a winning team I'd gladly continue to get on a plane, hotwire a hotel, and watch the Bengals kick some ass in Arizona, KC, Seattle or any other city.. but not when the owner of our team knowingly pockets the money that he could spend on coaches and players. As a lifelong Bengals fan, you begin to realize that Mike Brown does not want to win, he owns an NFL team.. he is good at being an NFL owner.. he makes a lot of money every year.. and he is probably happy. Bet his dad is proud. WHO DEY

I had a very similar injury. ACL, MCL, and meniscus(not sure if I spelled that right). From experience it’s about to be a real long tough road for burrow. I have never been quite the same but I didn’t have some of the best medical professionals in the world like burrow will. I wish burrow the absolute best, and hope he makes a full recovery. Breaks my heart to see a young kid have to deal with that.

    81. Greg Hobbs

He shouldn't have been playing let alone throwing from inside his own 5 yard line from "the pocket" if you want to call what the Bengals O-LINE has been producing a pocket. Washington has a very dangerous pass rush. This was bound to happen. Hope he can heal up fully. Thanks for the excellent medical explanation.
