    This was entirely edited, and was supposed to be exported, in 48fps, not 50. Funny thing is, Premiere simply doesn't allow custom frame rates in its export window, despite supporting it as a sequence setting. I could have exported the Premiere file into After Effects and added the sequence to the render cue, but I couldn't because AE threw me an error every time I tried. That, combined with the legitimately unbelievable amount of bugs and errors and crashes left me feeling so exhausted and numb that I ultimately decided it was worth sacrificing one 25th of a second's worth of timing here and there. If you catch any editing errors, that'd be why. Oh well!!

      Fantastic rant, I love it! And you're absolutely right. I love how you underline the intent of the artist. Those who would seek to replace artists with machine learning and AI clearly don't understand what art is for. Replace stuff that people don't want to do, or can't do. But people get joy (and their livelihood) from creating art, and they want to do it. It's one of the things that make us human. I'm no Luddite, and I love using new tools to create my animation. But when it starts to encroach upon the fulfillment that I get from creating, then no thanks! You might argue that this is just interpolation and chill out. But my response to that is just wait, this is just getting started.

        @Aaron B. nah, thats reality. im fkn tired of slideshows. i cant play consoles coz of 30 fps which are just static pictures for me. most of ppl cant see the difference between 40 and 50 fps due to low iq, for example, while high iq ppl can see the difference between 60 and 70 or 100 and 120 and so on. my eyes actually hurt when im watching something with less than 60 fps for too long coz it creates too much tension.

      Alright imma be honest, i just thought it looked pretty neat before, but as a gimmick. You sure changed my mind, and now i realize why exactly some frames look messed up because of it, or unnatural movements. Love your work btw ;)

      Great video, thank you for creating and sharing! I feel like the very same thing happened to music and musicians. A lot of things can get manipulated by computers now. They can fix singers pitch with autotune and put the drummer perfectly into the grid, lock that BPM 100% for the song and many more thigs. Form me it takes away from the personality of the music. Things like bending notes in a certain non linear ways, playing behind or in front of the beat to create a special kind of groove or slightly speeding up and slowing down the song for certain passages. Art should never become a formula, it's already perfect with it's imperfections.

      totally agree basically 100% However, I've been working on my senior film and we have a lot of stopmo elements, frame-by-frame high-res CRISPY images and I've been running some select shots through RIFE using Flowframes and honestly it's a godsend to avoid reshoots and get a selection of smoother frames(heavily adjusted manually in AE using time remapping for the right timing)

      Just a toodly point, but reaching the intended audience probably isn't helped by shouting 'WE DON'T NEED 60FPS ANIMATIONS' because the same crowd is the one who has been shouted by games companies the exact same sentence, but going from 30->60fps the games are hugely improved. You might now say - 'but those two are completely different areas and have barely anything in common' and I say yes, but the sentences are the same and a subconscious link is formed. You've already made up your mind once, when you re-hear the phrase you'll instantly fall back on the earlier judgement and you put yourself clean against the whole 'remaining at 24fps' idea just by association.

      I see your points and I kinda agree that gamers care way too much about frame rates. In animation, I like the lower frame rates, and I was never really able to put into words why, but you did it for me I guess. In gaming, I do care about frame rate to an extent, but only for the reason that I am in control of something within the game usually a character, I need to have a smooth framerate so I can lead shots better, or accurately time a jump, or just to know that I didn't turn too far to the left or for the most part so my immersion isn't broken. Like if I'm watching an animated show and suddenly it goes from 24 fps, then drops to 2 fps when it doesn't make sense, I'm gonna think there's something wrong with the copy I have or with the stream I'm watching. When gaming I need to be consistent, and to be fair, that's all I need. having the max amount of frames possible isn't everything.

      I've always hated it when people give that Naruto vs. Pain fight so much shit. Like of course it's gonna look like shit on a still frame, the entire point of smear frames and squash/stretch is to simulate motion. If you recorded someone getting slapped, then slowed it down and paused it, you'd literally see vibrations and muscle/skin contort and stretch. It's fine to say you thought it looked silly, it's another thing to say it's bad animation

      Ok like yea the ai isnt good and different frame rates can be used artistically but honestly these days even 60 looks like a slide show and yes smoother animation is better like he said when the artist intends it, honestly i cant enjoy shows or movies anymore because of the fact that i can count every individual frame, I see this 24 fps thing as a snobby traditionalist tactic, its like when musicians say "this is boring its not even in 7/8 with polyrythms and 12 note chords" i made every single film in my film class in 60 fps and the teacher called me out for it every time while the entire class complimented me on how smooth it was, if you like 24 fps thats fine but i know tons of people who dont like it but say "oh but all of these great film makers used it" and its like no you just want to render to not take as long

      This video undermines how impressive that AI actually is. Generating new information isn't trivial and some examples do look pretty good. But you are missing one fundamental point: It's just a tool. Sure if you have no intent and don't know how to use it, the result often looks worse. But if you know how and when to use it, it's actually pretty amazing. Being mad at this AI is like being mad at a hammer.

      I'm a gamer...But I am also a game designer. And nearing the end of my 5 year long course I have opened my eyes to EVERY LITTLE FUCKING DETAIL AND MISTAKE I CAN'T PLAY GAMES NORMALLY AGAIN! I tried learning animation and wanted to become a 3D animator. Alas, my lectuerer at the time dropped a big fucking book of the priniciples of animation on my desk and told me to read through it and write about it. I no longer wanted to become an animator. Basically, what I am saying in a roundabout way is, I am a gamer and I don't think 60fps animations is a must have in all animations. There are games that function REALLY WELL and uses the principles of animation to their advantage. If you were to slap on 60k frames on fucking z-fighters it would probably lose a good chunk of players.

      I guess there's some valid criticism, but this video is basically about a tool that makes your art more enjoyable to a different audience. I don't get it. Either you obsess over your animation to an unhealthy point where you are the only one who can do what you do, or you are running some form of damage control because you're afraid that people will start to demand animations to be in 60 FPS. Reminds me of the Ubisoft representative who came out and said that a game feels more "cinematic" in 30 FPS that it does in 60. I genuinely can't see why you are pissed at an opportunity for more people to enjoy your and others art. I feel you might be as proprietary as Disney or Nintendo with your work.

        @LunorZ Agreed. That's why i mentioned that he had some valid criticism, but when such hate evolves to the point where an artist figuratively/indirectly says: "No, you may only enjoy the art in the way I intended it to be enjoyed" it becomes a tad bit ridiculous.

        @Dario Flores Since those changes aren't classified as fair use, there should be no problem claiming videos or "ai-generated"-versions of your animations and if people start to complain you may actually realize there is a market for those kinds of animation and a gateway for the audience who enjoys animations best when they're in 60 fps.

      In my film class, we learn why is commonly used 24 FPS in a lot of movies that are not animated, because giving it more starts to feel unrealistic, and if it’s an action movie you start to see the fake parts of the action and it ruins your experience. That’s why 60 fps is commonly used now in video games intended for it. The majority of action games where you move the camera clearly benefits from it, same for some fighting games where the “meta people” dedicates a lot of time for counting the FPS hit box counting, that’s what makes certain characters beginner friendly than others.
