Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to go travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling, and we didn’t want to stop after just one year! After achieving our new goal of 100 countries and then all 7 continents (check out our documentary here: kgup.info/get/d6x6p2nKeG-snJ0/video), we had no plans to slow down, until 2020 decided to force us to ;) which is when we bought a converted Sprinter van to start exploring our own country for the first time. #Vanlife was a major adjustment and so different than flying every week like we were used to, but we are incredibly thankful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎

Welcome to South Dakota. From a person from SD slow down and pay more attention then what you would normally.

    10. Screen Box

We were thinking of driving to Yellowstone from Sacramento 2 weeks ago and I'm glad it didn't happen.

    11. Diane Silverstein

Thank you, thank you for sharing your trip to Yellowstone! We spent late winter to late summer there in 2018 and still can't find the right words to describe the place. Magnificent doesn't quite cut it. It's beyond that. The bison jams we're faves of ours. So glad to see YNP in winter through your eyes. So glad you made it there safely. Happy trails!

    12. NWforager

trust me , its Way worse to be In the Semi

    13. Ty Flakes

Thank you Jesus for keeping them safe 😭

    14. Cindy Taylor

If you never drive in snow and ice. Yellowstone is not a good place to start. Very stupid on your part.

    15. Kiara Enid

I know I’m a week late but the worst time to drive with snow if right after. There’s usually black ice and you can’t see it, it just looks like the road is wet. Then you slip and slide and that’s when the most accidents happen. I’m glad you guys are okay!

    16. Larry Keller

Omg this new generation .. crying good god no wonder why we have cancel culture

    17. Jeffrey Jordan

Stay in the 18 wheeler's tire tracks and don't use your brakes too much, let your engine do the breaking. Hang in there and hope for the best, good luck driving on black ice.

    18. Sean Wilson

      black ice is very scary.

    19. Gwen Prpka

      You are so pretty

    20. Annelies geef niet op

Thank you for taking us to Yellow stone!

    21. Caden Crowter

That’s nothing try driving on are roads in Canada during winter

    22. Carson Balmforth

I live pretty close to Yellowstone national park and I highly recommend going in the summer

    23. Pamela Fine

      How about checking the weather!

    24. Sara

I’ve always lived in Florida and have never seen snow or black ice. Wow. It’s beautiful but terrifying.

    25. Michael Sage

Been in that weather way too much in the mid west, used to drive home for Christmas every year 13 hours white knuckling it. Other drivers always were the scary part. Honestly I was more scared for you when you were in India and you talked about the drunken crowds of men attacking women. Really enjoying your van videos, maybe more than your old travel videos.

    26. Eleanor Barsic

I've only been there in summer. Thanks for the great winter footage!

    27. zhac83

This is the reason we in Finland this things called winter tires... :DD

    31. Ashlyn Everett

Me living in MN and looking at this like it’s normal

    32. Daniel Florez Azuola

I think it was much worse when they walked on a glacier in Switzerland. Feel like this was nothing

    33. Maitreya Kanitkar

wow this is the scariest thing i've ever seen in my whole life, but then again i am from western india

    34. chandarpal mourya

      nice

    35. Ella Meert

      What camera do you use?

    36. Storm Skies

Firstly there’s no need to cry! I mean that’s just dramatic fir dramatics sake. Second always carry chains fir your tyres. Third slow down ffs.

    37. Alyssa Tanner

They were in a serious situation and talking about how scary it was then they saw a subway and it all went away for a second. Subway makes everything better

    38. Shelby McKay

😂 the dude in a hoodie and shorts in the middle of this snow storm is the definition of Canadian 😅 he was prepared lol he planned for this 😂

    39. Vijay

i think we all are travelling together with kara and nate 💜

    40. Dan Willis

The even excellent excited children subjectively encourage because band ethnically steer excluding a measly mary. magical, cautious hood

    41. Gelamil Garcia

US should invest with their snow tires for each states every winter like in Canada or other countries. Because you never know when a random snow storm, frozen rain, ice snow will come in your way like this one.

    42. Aimee Wright

I just started watching their videos a couple days ago and am now so fully invested I was very much tearing up hearing them describe it because I absolutely know that fear.

    43. Veronica Reyes

I can’t look at Nate and not think he looks so much like Cristiano Ronaldo...

    44. String Bean

Carry chains, and you're fine. Living in a nice roomy van like that means you have nowhere to go fast. You learn patience and how to enjoy the moment that way. It's good for you.

    45. Andrew Huynh

Note they are from Nashville TN. Us Tennesseans aren't built for any kind of inclement weather. Quarter inch of snow = inclement weather for us lol

    46. itsmackeever

I experienced these conditions in a camper van coming from WinterPark back to Denver during a nasty snow storm a couple weeks ago. So glad you guys are okay!!!

    47. Cheryl Parker

Glad you made it safely. I really enjoyed the beautiful video of Yellowstone, great job!

    48. Maz7006

WI driver here with a Corolla. 1. Slow the down, like real down. 2. Take away distractions. 3. Follow somebody cautiously. 4. Use hazardous if you sense danger. 5. If you feel what your about to do is dangerous then it is. 6. If have a moment and slide don’t brake , let off the gas gently and be careful. 7. If you don’t need to be on the road don’t be.

    49. Elias M.

“It’s negative two degrees, the coldest that we’ve tried to sleep in this van” “I’m turning on the heater”

    50. ANGELMANNO2

Yes, Glad you made it safe.

    51. gemi pancakes

Please be careful to wear a mask when near people, even outside. I love you guys, but it worries me that you're talking to people without a mask in the middle of a pandemic. Please be safe!

      1. Be Thechange

Most Americans don't care about the pandemic, that is why Canada closed their border to them a year ago and has kept it closed..

    52. bruce wayne

I learnt alot about black ice from my dad and dang when something as big and heavy as an 18-wheeler goes off the road you know it's series btw i live in a small mountainy town in Tennessee and it gets really bad here sometimes during the fall and winter and the wildlife consists of deer, bear, coyotes, birds crows and hawks included, snakes, turtles, rabbits, lizards if i can remember correctly, fish, insects, spiders and when humans first settled this town that i live in there were elk and buffalo and wolves but unfortunately they were all driven and hunted out of the area

    53. Paige Steele

Canadians drive in this 6 months out of the year!

    54. Isaac kent

That's very fast to be driving on an icy road, did the cars coming towards you at a very low speed not give you an idea of how fast you should be going?

    55. Platinum edge Gaming

You need to get chains for your tires because of slipping pls be carefully slow is fast and slow is smooth my dad owns a 18 wheeler he gave me this advise

    56. swayze

Holy shit! If you are crying over some ice and a "close call" you both must have not seen a single struggle going through life with your parents probably babying you growing up. Get a grip you loon

    57. PurpleCarnation

Why in the world were you driving so fast?! Roads like that you gotta go, like... 25? Especially with low visibility and a big ole van that'll take a while to come to a stop.

    58. Jessica Blouin

Not to make light of your scary driving situation...... but where did you get your cute tie dye sweatshirt?:)

    59. Anki Olebring

You know it takes winter tyres to be safe on the ice and snow ? Hi from Sweden 😉✌🏽

    60. Tina Eldridge

OMG What a trip, that spin must have made your lives flash before you're eyes, but you made it. Thank goodness!. What a fantastic video. Those geysers were amazing. Stay Safe, Hugs UK

    61. MELINDAA

As a swede this feels like nothing to me, doesn’t look scary at all but I can totally understand that this might feel scary for those who aren’t used to it. Drive safe :)

    62. dcoog anml

“Gawd minus 4 is cold!” belly laughs in French Canadian 😂🥶

    63. lindsey snauwaert

Waaaauw i visited Yellowstone in summer but this wauw! Thanks for another very nice video ♥️

    64. Keegan McQueen

This is a daily drive in Utah from November - March 😂.

    65. Jaralyn Majak

And I need Kara's tye dye hoodie! Super Cute! 😘💖and I happen to hate snow!

    66. Jaralyn Majak

I adore you two, but snow tires exist for a reason! Come to Upstate N.Y. or Buffalo N.Y. in the winter! It's was way worse! And watching baby girl cry flippin killed me! If you ever need a Winter driver....hmu! I loooooovers you sooooooo much!

      1. dcoog anml

        Welcome to the Midwest!

    67. MN RockHounder

Don’t go to Minnesota during the winter if you think those roads are bad😂

    68. Gregory Nissen

Had our fun in a much worse snow storm through Montana whilst driving a Penske van. I'm from Nebraska/Iowa. So snow driving is much more a norm.

    69. D Boudriault

Bad news is you were fools to try and do this drive in the winter.

    70. Chris David

      Welcome to Wyoming !

    71. Hanz Down Sports

We will need lots of caffeine 🤣 glad you guys made it safe. Have a super fantastic day. Thanks for sharing your ups and downs in travel. Many blessings too you guys. 🙏🏾

    72. Claudia Strelow

Ha this is every winter I mn 🤣 that's why we retired in fl

    73. Rising Tech

The half approval phylogentically whine because whistle spindly check modulo a smart hyena. axiomatic, warlike reduction

    74. Luke M

Who needs winter tires?! We have a camper van.

    75. Melanin_monroe

And cue the dramatics Meryl Streep . 😒Lol! You’re so scared but made sure to get every drop of those croc tears on film. That whole damsel in distress, gets no play over here so you can wipe the doe eyed Bambi watching her mother get shot and strapped to the back of the a pick up truck look off your face. I’m glad you two are ok but you could of left the extras including the screeching tires sound clip on the cut floor! A bit over the top don’t you think?!

    76. Jason Sinacori

I totally understand last Oct my family and I where driving back to IL from Spokane WA. We got hit by a snow storm in Oct around Billings Montana. Yep we had to stay a night and try to find a ice scraper to buy. It snows a lot crazier up north.

    77. Grace Clark

Your camera is so clear - video looks great. Also if you come out our way be aware of the Pacific Ocean - sneaker waves get someone every year! Mostly tourist but sometimes locals who get careless.

    78. Samantha Landsberg

I'm from south africa and I would never get to see this, thank you for sharing your beautiful country with those around the world.

      1. Patricia Cole

My favorite yt ministry in South Africa is what’s up prof with Walter Vieth

    79. Amelia SR

There are probably very friendly farmers wherever you see bins and farm yards.....we would be one of them!

    80. Amelia SR

      Welcome to the Midwest!

    81. katrinagagenet

if you go to Yellowstone in the winter you miss the bears. Seeing the big grizzly bears lumbering along is so cool.

    82. Questing Vagabond

You probably got off the road too late. What is your hurry? 13 hours? You have no schedule, make that 12 days.

    83. CCC

Nate good job, growing up Minn I got a wide variety of driving. You guys did exactly what you. should PULL OFF, and hang out! CCC Austin, TX. Like the buffalo!

    84. E C

WTF are you doing wearing sunglasses in a blizzard.

    85. Savannah CD

HAZARD lights on Always when you’re driving in snow/rain storms even fog! 🇨🇦

    86. Maria Hernandez

That happened to me on the road in upstate New York, i am 19 and was alone I had a meltdown after. I would’ve went into ditch.. scariest thing ever when you aren’t in control anymore

    87. COLEB35 KING

Why the hell did you think it would be anything but? Shit like this is what gets you killed.

    88. bocoy noiu

I know this is a tiny thing, but thanks for putting the celsius there also. I'm from EU and it's nice when you don't have to think how much that would be 😂💚

    89. Frentzen Chandra

I love to see you darling, God bless you, thank you, beautiful scenery ⛪ common go to the church 💃👫

    90. niktve

Handing over the camera to catch you crying, putting a fake sound clip and a black screen to act like something brutal happened, and promoting BetterHelp, a site that advertises “licensed professionals” even though it’s all a fucking fraud - how fucking shitty can a single person be?

    91. Taylor Welling

If your a male ...ages 25 to 40 and want to live like this. Move to Ohio

      1. bocoy noiu

        Welcome to Montana!

    92. Jaeiou

The freeway where I live is crazy in the snow and most of the accidents happen because idiots don't SLOW DOWN... driving in snow can be scary but usually if you go slow and steady you'll be fine

    93. Ali Meets World

Clicked for the bait, stayed for the vibes 😎

    94. K Gluodenis

Yellowstone is my favorite! I usually go in early May. Not too many people and a little warmer.

    95. lavapix

The scariest black ice is when the weather is nice. Bridges are the most common areas for it. Take your foot off of the gas and ride it out.

      1. Excellence in Recycling

        And put it in neutral

    96. Andrews Plays0928

      hope yall are safe

    97. Deb Cowley

A couple bits of info for you and your followers: Do not come to Yellowstone without doing your research and having a room or campground reserved especially in summer where everything sells out a year in advance. All campgrounds in YNP and Grand Tetons are res only as of 2021. The only road open to vehicles in winter is the road through the North Entrance of the park which is in Gardiner Montana. You can then drive from there to Mammoth Hot Springs as well as Lamar Valley/Cooke City but then you must turn around to exit the park. The park in winter is only accessible via Snow Coaches(outside of Mammoth Hot Springs), with Old Faithful Snowlodge and Mammoth Hot Springs hotel being the only lodging opened in winter. Mammoth camprgound is never full in the winter and is never busy so it's not hard to get a site ever. Only half of the campground is opened in winter. Bears are not awake in the winter and generally do not come out of hibernation until late March, especially in Mammoth. To prepare for your trip to YNP please visit the website of the main concessionaire Xanterra Parks and Lodges at ynplodges.com

    98. annette miller

      It’s so beautiful there .

    99. Adam Thompson

I used to dive around the country in the same kind of van as a job I was in a new state everyday I had so many of those close calls with the ice and snow it's super dangerous and unsettling I did not get paid all the much money to do that the way it was hope you all stay safe out there get ready for a bunch more close calls like that it's part of life on the road and yes we're your at I super dangerous to drive in the winter just take it slow

    100. Jo L O

      No one cares
