Tom Clancy's Without Remorse, or simply Without Remorse, is an upcoming American action thriller film starring Michael B. Jordan directed by Stefano Sollima and written by Taylor Sheridan and Will Staples. It is based on the 1993 novel of the same name by Tom Clancy and a spin-off of the Jack Ryan film series.
The film tells the origin story of John Kelly (aka John Clark), a U.S. Navy SEAL, who uncovers an international conspiracy while seeking justice for the murder of his pregnant wife by Russian soldiers. When Kelly joins forces with fellow SEAL Karen Greer and shadowy CIA agent Robert Ritter, the mission unwittingly exposes a covert plot that threatens to engulf the U.S. and Russia in an all-out war.

What a shame Amazon didn't capitalize on the opportunity to have continuity between this and the John Krasinski Jack Ryan series. I'm fine with aracial and cross-gender casting of the characters with respect to the original Tom Clancy characters, but at least have some consistency within your own productions. Also most of what 'Jack' experiences and does in season 2 of Amazon's Jack Ryan is actually based on Tom Clancy's John Kelly aka John Clark character and the events in Clear and Present Danger. Mr. Clancy wrote a perfectly good book series that would have been better served had the Amazon productions stayed truer to the source material. Instead, they've dumbed down the content to cliche action movie tropes and reduced the technical and political attention to detail that made Clancy's books so immersive and successful. Had to quit Jack Ryan during season two and looks like I'm going to have to pass on Without Remorse, too. Do yourself a favor - go read Clear and Present Danger and Without Remorse. These are some of Clancy's best works imo

There are numerous veterans who saw combat in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan. Having all that experience available for producers to hire military advisers, there is no reason to have actions scenes as bad and as unrealistic as this.
