That was an extraordinary window into the mind of a brilliant fisherman. Thank you so much, Matt, for this and all that you and Tim do.

    2. Apex

What pound line do I use cuz I don’t know I want to use 10-30 pound line but if I hook in too a pike or musky I’m scared it might break

    3. Andrew Lor

Im too scared to throw $20.

    4. Blake J

You go above and beyond Matt, I really appreciate your time and hard work on these videos. Thank you

    5. Firehouse Breaks

What gear ratio for the Tranx? 5.8:1 OR 7:6:1

      1. Firehouse Breaks

        @tacticalbassin

    6. TheDruxlol

what size hooks are you running on the gantarel?

    7. Mike Mjm

Why is there not a ripple with how much Matt is moving around lol

      1. Mike Mjm

If u guys want to take a trip to Shasta let me know we’re only 6 miles away also have a cabin on the lake so u guys wouldn’t have to stay on ur boat LOL

      2. TacticalBassin

Talons holding the boat in place 👍

    8. A. Marcum

Hands down cream of the crop channel...no other is even in the same zip code

    9. NEOSpawnKiller

I got my first couple bass this year on a little 3.8 or 4.8 Keitech. I keep one of those things tied on my spinning rod always now.

    10. Carla Usery

Thank you for making me feel like I can make informed choices with both my selection and utilization. Notes taken!

    11. Paul Giannetto

Great job. Your advice is invaluable.

    12. David Wasney

I know what you mean when it comes to putting everything in your favor that you have control of. I have been doing Sturgeon and Stripers for the past 30 years and I know the feeling all too well. I will only take a few people out with me anymore because it is too hard on me when a 50lb fish doesn't get to the boat because of a shitty knot or a cracked guide on a rod. There are plenty of things that can happen beyond your control, but there is no excuse to for a weak link that could have been eliminated. Thanks for your video. That was as good as they come. I didn't plan on watching the entire video, but I could not walk away from it . Great job

    13. Fony

Talks about bass fishing for about an hour and thirty minutes and than adds a small striper color tip! The cherry on the cake 👌

    14. mikehauck 58

This is one of the Best swimbait informational post I have ever seen.🤙☮🙏😎

    15. Mark Wareham

great info but think of the crap left in the lake or river for fish to swallow and die ?

    16. xeStingx

Thank you so much. All I’m going to throw is swim baits. New rod and reel coming in for the set up.

    17. The Pepper Man Henry Davis

How dose that go again burn.burn.🔥---

    18. DanMaJayYer

For the fury rod, I feel it's under powered for the baitsanity explorer. I have both of them and it feels a bit soft for it but am I underestimating the rod?

      1. TacticalBassin

Rod ratings and actions are very fickle. I agree that it's underpowered to cast the bait. However, it has plenty of power to set the hook and loads up beautifully to keep them pegged during the fight. I've never broken one on the cast, though I've had to lob really hard to get the bait out there, and I've been very grateful for that same flex when a big one bit.

    19. Ryan Hahn

      BURN BURN BURN BURN!!! pause...

    20. JEYEXOTIC

Can’t believe he’s so patient not casting every second in that money spot

    21. PonyRang Toysᅵ포니랑 토이즈 [Kids Toy World] 波尼朗

Wow... !!! Great... We liked and enjoyed to the end. Thanks Have a happy day!

    22. Robert Stone

This is one of my favorite fishing videos. I can watch it over and over. Love throwing swim baits.

    23. GCAST Fishing

Is 4-10 oz rod overkill ?

    24. Garret Peterson

"I smash em...and I smash em the second I feel em.....I hit them with everything I got every single time!" Still laughing....hahaha...absolutely love it

      1. Le Lopez

If the fish so much as breathes on it lol

    25. GieFaan Kim

Love the point you made about the extra unnecessary treble hook that could kill the fish. Does this also apply for trailer hooks on spinners?

    26. Houston Abbott

Y'all are hands down the best most informative bass fishermen on KGup. Thank y'all for everything y'all do! Only complaint i have is y'all dropping all this knowledge is making all these lures go out of stock on tackle warehouse 🤣 my wishlist on their is never ending

    27. Peter Jackson

I don't know why all bass fishermen don't watch this channel.

    28. Boomchang 13

WOW this is one of the greatest technique videos of any kind of fishing. I know whee i live this is going to be it thanks for opening new doors and a full freezer. These techniques i know will work for muskies and stripers here in the Ohio River PA Ohio boarder. Thank you so much for this video sir!!!!!!

    29. steven caldwell

Matt, I think... No, I know that I love you! Not scared to say that to a real man! I just had a shit day on a over pressured So Cal Lake the other day! I was thinking of going big for some time... now, after watching this ( and many other of the TB video’s) I am now going 100% all in with large swimbait fishing! I have my lil secret float tube reservoirs ( not even Aaron Martens would divulge ) and I do spend some time with my friends in Tennessee.... that said, on these So Cal Res ... I am now convinced and comfortable to take on the large swimbait/ glide bait approach! I appreciate both you and Tim more than words can reflect! You guys are a true fishing resource! Thanks again!🏄🏼‍♂️🎣👍

    30. Joseph Koziol

Thanks... this tutorial was super useful and well done. Bravo!

    31. Bass_Squatch

I'd like to know what you think about the twerk minnow by cal coast fishing. Have you tried em'? Reminds me of the Scottsboro.

    32. Definitelynotme

Im thinking of getting a 13 fishing omen black heavy swimbait rod and pairing it with shimano tranx would that work

      1. Definitelynotme

        @TacticalBassin thnx

      2. TacticalBassin

Yes. I fished that exact combo the other day and it seemed solid.

    33. Ryan Carlisle

In a pond that has perch and bluegill, what would you recommend? Seems like I get better bites on perch colored baits.

    34. Mike Lewis

Good info. If I ever gill hook a 15 lb plus bass, my taxidermy buddy will be happy.

    35. Sirjustis

      The fatty looks sick!!

    36. Alexander Wlad

Now I want to go scuba diving on Clear Lake for those Huddlestones

    37. MADD Basser

Are you using mono or shock leader for all swim baits?

    38. Aiden camp

My favorite video of all time.

    39. Nick L

Guys, I'm gonna have to suggest it, even if it gets me a bunch of thumbs down. You could have a subscription based site, kind of like bass university. Or maybe have a donation/tip link, because I've gained so much free knowledge from yall and I truly do appreciate it. I know yall say to use the affiliate links and I do that too. This is a seminar, that is worth 20 bucks from me at least. Thanks fellas!

    40. Sanguine

I have a great photo of a 2-3 lb largemouth bass, freshly dead with a bluegill in it's mouth.

    41. Rick Cunningham

This was well done. Very informational and helpful. Thank you for taking the time to do this!

    42. Mike G

Is it worth trying a huddleston in a small lake that does not have trout?

    43. Billy Dias

Perfect timing! Thanks Matt just started throwing these and appreciate the knowledge my friend.💪🏻🎣🍻

    44. Jonas Olsson

Hi Matt. Just subscribed. Love what you guys do. Very educational

    45. Ron Clayton

I been bass fishing 28yrs and I'm glad these dudes came along and to teach me more than what I ever knew...if you can't learn the basics by listening and watching Matt and Tim, then bass fishing ain't for you!.

    46. Ethan Sisk

Instead of a beast hook for the keitech I just use one of those Berkely 7/0 and I get the secondary action like you are talking about. It puts of a very nice head shake.

    47. Tom Selick

Hey Matt, how big of a bait would you dare to use when my state record is 11-12 pounds? I want to fish for THE big one

    48. Boomchang 13

I am so glad you taught me well today never too old to learn. This was the game changer and does this work for Muskies big time. using 8"+ baits now and this is almost unfair in the part of the Ohio River I fish in PA. and the feeder streams in my area which are as big as some rivers that is what I target. Thanks so much the info I tried this end of October. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am subscribing right now.

    49. Natural Cycle

      all talking no catching

    50. CH Maximus

Burn, burn, burn, burn...pause. Matt Allen original that cracks me up every single time.

    51. James Daniel

Thanks brother! Always enjoy your passion and enthusiasm!

    52. Adam's Disc Golf Vlogs

Hey guys, trying to clear something up. So when getting a reel, I want to get a Tranx 300. I'm assuming I would rather have a slower gear ratio for fishing big swimbaits, but is there a Tranx 300 with a slower gear ratio that also comes with the power handle? Thanks!

    53. Catmando

Matt thanks for all of your information I know how much time is involved in their production.

    54. Blazen Basser

Hey Matt do u spool up all your swimbait reels with braid an use a leader or do you have some of your reels spooled up with all fluorocarbon ?

    55. Kieran Tamondong

My lake is filled with blue gill, the most I have caught at Castaic Lake are bluegill, so it begs the question whether I should buy my first bluegill swimbait with a jig hook or weedless. I was thinking weedless so I can use it in more areas. The other is just risky becuase I don't want to lose money.

    56. Rob Cole

Jesus... I’ve watched ALOT of your vids for years... but this??? THANK YOU for the encyclopedia on swimbait fishing... AWESOME VIDEO!

    57. Michael Gepson

Thanks for the great content. Loved the segment on multi jointed baits. I went out the next day and applied it too my retrieves .

    58. John

Love the vatalion . Why when you guys talk about baits there suddenly sold out.....oh yeah because you know what you're talking about and explain very well. Stop( just kidding) please keep giving the most in depth and best videos on youtube

    59. Las_Vegas_Bass_Fishing

When fishing the hudd do you change the retrieval speed depending on water temp? For example do you fish it faster in mid 50 degree water as apposed to 50 degrees and lower water temp?

    60. Connor Hany

Think this is my 6th time watching this video. Just ordered my first s-waver and a sneaky Pete. Can’t wait to try them out this spring

    61. Ryan Smithberger

If that was a real backdrop the leaves would have changed colors. great video though.

    62. Jack Landis

It’s been less than two months, and the Huddleston shad is already out of stock. That’s wild.

    63. Marilyn Hart

I love Matt's long seminar vids.

    64. Chris Carey

So TW doesn’t carry st-56 in 2/0 for the explorer. What is the best alternative? St-58?

      1. TacticalBassin

I'd actually drop to the ST-36

    65. BC II

Awesome Video. I'm new to bass fishing, and this video was packed with info.

      1. TacticalBassin

        Awesome! We're happy to help!

    66. David Raguse

Hi guys bit off topic ...how do you measure rod sensitivity...I have bought rods and fish them and they don't have the sensitivity I was expecting....rods can be light, have the desired action but not what I would call sensitive....Sometimes I fish light and wind can have a belly in the line I want a rod that can transfer slack line bites....the Diawa wild weasel dose this but a bit soft in the tip and too short for distance casting. Been watching you talk up the expride but it is not available in Australia

    67. Richard Kranium

i fish Lake Mead and the Colorado river area below the dam ....168 work there ?

      1. TacticalBassin

        Yes, no question.

    68. Michael Sousa-Johnson

Is there a video coming of your jungle excursion?

    69. smorrow0816

This is better than BassU material. I was GLUED for 1.5 hours! Great content!

    70. Bigfish92084

Amazing that you shared this valuable knowledge. I can hardly wait to go fishing and use what I just learned from you. You pointed out many of the things I was doing completely wrong. My next DD will be credited to you. Sincere thanks.

    71. The Real Shino

Best channel, no BS or boring tone All facts and very interesting and attention keeping. Once I can go fishing I’ll use these techniques I just bought a brand new swimbait

    72. First Light Angler

Solid gold video Matt. I’m chasing a giant tomorrow with your info.

    73. Philip Newman

I can't begin to tell you guys how much I enjoy your videos. You guys are my daily go to on all things fishing. Thank you thank you thank you. please keep it up, don't underestimate what you contribute to the community. Much love boys, tight lines.

      1. TacticalBassin

Thank you Philip for the kind words! We appreciate your support 👊🏻

    74. Ricardo Serna

How big is that weedless hook on the savage gear bluegill? This video is a masterpiece.

    75. Jeremy Blair

Such a good video, you guys are awsome. My wife got me the Dobyns furry rod after you guys recommended it in your video earlier this year with you and Tim swimbait fishing. Hopefully she gets me some swimbaits and a real for that rod for X-mas. Thanks for making this video I have already watched it twice and for helping us become better fisherman. Hands down best KGup fishing channel period. Now that you guys are closer to the Midwest I may have to plan a guided trip on Chickamauga in the near future.

    76. BigBass13 13

It’s cute how their “fall” looks nothing like our fall in NY. Lol

    77. Nick T

Made perfect sense when Matt said that if you’re fishing out in the open its giving the bass too much time to observe if its real or fake. Ive never thought about that until now.

    78. Randall Hardin

Thanks Matt! One question glide bait and color for thread fin shad only lakes?

    79. GCAST Fishing

      Thanks Matt

    80. Fish Bluewater

Great video. Keep up the great work. Just subbed. Check out our channel when ever you get a chance

    81. Fish Louisiana RodnReelGirls

I have never seen bass that big, but them again I don't do much fresh water fishing. Amazing video.

    82. Moises Ramos

What size line (lbs.) do you use?

    83. Michael Thompson

    90. Trag Sifarin

Snagged a 4.3 Lb on the Savage Gear bluegill yesterday. Thanks for all the info you guys provide. It really helps.

    91. Jeff Jarvie

November 1st it felt like -4C in Toronto with Gale Force winds on Lake Ontario. The rest of this week has gotten up to 18-19C. Today, Saturday November 7th, 2020 we’re looking at 18C (64F). How does anyone else deal with these unreal unseasonal temperature swings, especially the guys in Northeastern US?

    92. Joseph Acker

For big fall/winter baits, I would have to add one small and one large Medusa. I see musky fisherman catch big bass by accident when they're casting for pike and musky

    93. Cole Buser

What ratio reel when fishing these swim baits and glides?

    94. Stupid Stuff

Are there non scented keitchec baits. They all seem to be scented.

    95. Ed Peter

I am super ADD but this video held my attention for the entire 1:29:22 (OCD too). This is a treasure trove of great info and I can't wait to put what i've learned into action.

    96. Urban Bass Slayers

Amazing as always! We have been lucky enough to go to your Big Bass Seminars in the past, and it was life changing! We are going out on Clearlake with Paul Bailey on the 12th this month, and i'll be thinking about you guys while were out there! One day we WILL fish together. Best inspiration there is! Thanks for what you do Matt!!

    97. Kus Land
