Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

le boss est dans la cabine !
Did he really just unplug their gps base station while they were working? Or am I missing something
That was just for surveying fields. The base station was up by the road on a tripod
Bring the boy...homeschool education = learning " working words"!!!!!!!!
Randy could get the big rocks out of your fields.
Ooooooo Shop Envy is a thing!
Love the tractor nuts hanging there lol
So you got to use that 620 quad track and you also download that 9620 RX John Deere. Which one did you like better overall??
Thanks for being that 'weird guy walking around with a camera'. That was SO cool to watch!
Hey Zach , Whats the chance of seeing were the pipe ends up and the volume its shifting from the fields, 🎈
Why is it called tiling?
3 feet? What a waste of time and money
😂😂 it's probably the single best return on investment on any farm in our area, but ok.
How many feet of drain tile did you plow that day? I bet if you pressure washed that rock it would be a piece of granite from the Canadian Shield!
wd 40 sucks..... it's just varsol
The FARGO HAT MY FAVORITE
This really amazing and how about the WD 40 that's amazing also (plug)
There might be Gold under that rock or check it for old Viking inscriptions like the Kensington Ruin Stone. SPELLING? Alway check those rocks you might be rich.
VP NOT BP
Good Ole Sarah Palin add she's a hottie still would of been a great BP
Awesome Go Pro positions
WD40 ?!? ... try Ballistol (since 116yrs (1904)) and see for yourself. ballistol.com/longevity/ . in my workshop we switched. marry X-Mas and happy new year.
With all the drainage tiles connected, do they drain into a common pond or a creek or river? Can the water with the high nutrient content be reapplied to the farm so the nutrients are not wasted?
Make sure you located all them natural gas and product lines we need only safe jobs done you cover lots of ground know what's below
What is the point of Tile Plowing again?
Did anyone notice the truck nuts weight on that tile plow😳😏😆 And that’s not a rock that’s a big ass boulder
What a great educator you are. I'm southern. We don't have dirt that color. Whaddya mean too much water? Guess that plow wouldn't work for a 14 acre corn field. Love the video and the kid.
“If it moves and it shouldn’t, duct tape. It if doesn’t and it should, WD40” The Jason Bourne of farming
I ain’t going to miss the red leather smell XD
I've been curious, is there a reason for the sleeper cabs vs day cabs?
in 10,000 bc we discovered crops for food today we lay pipes to get rid of man made fertilizer. uuhm progress mans downfall putting plastic in the ground to make food,
@Millennial Farmer good point. I just grew up around farms and woodland. Now mostly residential the newer residents blame farmers for polluted water ways which I do not believe because say 1000 acres produce less pollution than a 1000 acres of housing. It the plastic thing that gets me is all.
Drain tile actually helps keep more nutrients within the soil. Why would farmers want to get rid of the nutrients?
If these are your takeaways from this video your comprehension is absolutely terrible.
How much do y’all get an hr for clearing land down there ?
I thought nitrates were negatively charged. NO3-
Nitrates are, that's correct. Most other nutrients are stable within healthy soil, including N when it isn't in the ammonia form.
How are you going to miss a RED tractor?
What brand of Tile Plow and what is the software system that they are using to make a tile plowing prescription?
Awesome! I wonder who hung a “pair” on the chain off the back of the plow? Well deserved in my book!
smart crew, they all own chevys
those balls must be freezing
Thats hard to believe that the corrugated pipe doesn't collapse your the depth of the soil. I have always hear of drain tile. Never would have believed.
All that perforated pipe install is good for is a tax writeoff.
That and a massive increase in yield, erosion control, and better water infiltration.
What's that red thing????
How do you minimize the compaction of the soil with such big machinery?
I’d like to know what this farmer had to pay for all this work being done. Great vid
I wonder how the pipe knows when to stop taking water?
When the soil profile reaches what the molecules and hold, it stops seeping to the pipes
Did Randy remember to take the Oversize Load sign off before heading back to the shop?! lol
Heyyyy I am wrong Onyx just busted Dad for only wearing Uncle Eddie's hat only at Christmas emptying the pooper of his RV!!!!!!! I mean cutting down the Christmas tree!!!!!!!
Onyx is saying........Yeah......Ok dad!!!!!! Gosh! Leave me alone I just wanna play Minecraft!!!! Actually he looks to kind even to say anything back to dad.
I like it 👍😘
She sure was purdy!!
Zach, those are pebbles.... you should see the boulders we have in Western New York! I can send you some pictures.... of REAL rocks!
Is that RED I see
Why do farmer’s call French drains, tiles?
Have u ever put 25 miles of til in 280 acreas we did in 1979
this is a topic you might find interesting or maybe you're already there. kgup.info/get/qpGjoYqwlJZsrHc/video
so that contact cleaner stuff will that clean up some old corroded looking copper contacts?
Hey zack what is the name of that camera system. You have or Securtiy system
Nice!
Some nice Case equipment, was that an 1850 or 2050 dozer also curious about engine used in big crawler plow
May not be the same model but this guy is building a working model of a tile machine. kgup.info/get/fomAZWXRgYylr3s/video

Love watching your videos. Grew up on poplar street in lowry.
What's Randy doing with that YELLOW THING... In his shop. Can't believe you are friends with a New Holland owner. Lol
Great Vlog, Randy is such a great technician and artist. well done thanks
I love the videos 👍👍👍🚜🚜🚜
AND if it moves and it should not -- weld it --- lol
@ 3:02 the "My favorite Red Tactor" made me smile. (Alaskan coastal fisherman, metal boat builder, welder) was a cute skit of the " farmer tester's relation" to the machine.
then justbget it
Your product endorsements are extremely annoying.
So are your stupid comments. You don’t pay anything to watch this channel. It’s free content. Zach deserves compensation wherever he can get it. Not like it took up half the video.
Must get great fuel mileage when you only have to snap your fingers to get there.
You Zach, and the Welkers are on my short list of tubers to watch so keep up the great work eh! Top notch editing too Becky but you're cuter than Zach on camera :p lol Any chance of upgrading them cameras to 4k? That'd be fantastic :D
Another very nice one Zach! Tile plowing, to enhance drainage of this parcel! Nice to see these advanced heavy duty and tracked machines steered via satellite receiver. It is nice to see how coherent they work and for example how the pipes got connected. Also nice to see how your land and soil looks like if you dig deeper. looks quite good isn't it. Great and thanks to you all 👍👌
Happy Thanksgiving
Randy needs a thumb on the excavator
They use a lot of similar machines in the Netherlands when working the Polders for the same reasons. Due to the reclaimed nature of the Polder Lands the water board is quite high so to make for more loamy soil the drainage work is immense. Another FYI is one of the largest steam driven pump engines in the world was used for polder drainage.
Wow, do you have any control over the ads supporting your video? The second one was very graphic and whole I’m no prude, my grandson was with me when it came on and displaying an oral sex seen several times before I could stop it. Disappointed in utube (spelling) . Check the ad when your kids aren’t around. Sorry to bring this up but yikes, what a lesson he got.
Ad subjects are usually specific to your recent search and viewing history. Tells me all I need to know about what you’ve been up too.
Seems to me, without fabric and aggregate backfill, the perforated pipe would clog overtime. I've performed reclamation for 20 years, without fabric at least, our drains clog in a matter of two or three rain events. I'm assuming the Inter Drain (machine) helps reduce sediment loads with may be a huge factor, or is the pipe not necessarily as much a drain, but rather, a collection basin for moisture?
The case is so 💩
Now I know the real significance of "red leather yellow leather"
Surprised no sock is used. Around here it would be all gummed up the minute it's in the ground with no sock or stone surrounding it.
here in Ireland I have never seen a rock that big
Thanks for the plug, we appreciate your marketing skills, and found your video entertaining and educational.. Sincerely WD-40
Awesome video. Looks like it’s getting cold in Minnesota already! As a winch hand seeing that cable hit the ground a few times definitely made me cringe lol
they have a healthy price tag
@6:55 did i see truck nutz hanging on the right side of the chute
Zach, if farming don't work out, you could always be a Manufacturer's Rep for WD-40.
why does not any excavators in america have rototilt? Here in sweden you cant find anyone without it!
I saw a John Deere sensor on it I think you’ll like it
what ethanol plant do u go to.
You’re doing a great job my name is Nader I’m from Maryland where are you guys from
I think y’all need a red tractor
Come on mate give me a video, I’m an addict ! You could be patting the dogs and I’d watch ! How’s your dad’s dodger knee going ? Is onyx going is he over the COVID-19 ? Go hard mate you do a great job ! When are you going to buy another piece of awesome epuipment ? I love watching you get excited over machinery and how it works to your satisfaction ! I love watching your channel !!
Hey zack can you make a video plz can you plz
Hope all is well. Only been a few days and I am missing your videos something awful!
Well, those are the sort of rocks that would keep a you-drive-um-army-jeep-car from rolling off a cliff. kgup.info/get/eLGLqo-OnIRufqk/video How often do those tiles have to be replaced. Soggy soil is not a problem where I live so I am unfamiliar with drain tiles. I also noticed that he had his balls and chain with him on the tile layer.
Finally I understand how tiling fields works.
What does it cost per ft to plow and cost of pipe
Had teacher tell me if I didn’t get edumacated id be digging ditches lol i love playing in dirt and it pays more then they make lol at one point i was operating a pc1800 komatsu prob cost 2-5 million dollars
Do you know why it is WD 40. What is WD 40 STAND FOR
Do you grow corn every year..no rotation at all? Here in the mid south (east Arkansas, west Tennessee, north Mississippi) very little, and I mean VERY little tile is installed. In fact, there is only one tile installation I know of and it is in west TN. Kind of a new start up operation. Do you have an field that lacks a place for the tile to empty into? I have a field with that problem. Maybe a big dry well?
Guess there are rock crushers now that can pulverize these rocks.
Do they have ice pick tracks on them
