Mark yes Eldorado looks good from the turnpike but it's pretty much a turd...White bass on shad lake. Crappie not bad during spawn and a few giant walleye. BASSMASTER magazine actually had a 6 # smallie picture in the lunker club some time ago. Thanks 😎✌️

El dorado has nice fish smallmouth and largemouth. There is a ABA district 66 I think that fishes it.
Bassmaster's record keeping is nominal to good for their active elite roster in my opinion. The FLW seems to have vanished with their merger with MLF. I used to refer to the FLW records frequently in the recent past. Now, I've abandoned the search for that data. My respect for Ken Duke rivals my respect for fishing and those that fish. I had to sneak up on most of the trout I caught which carried over to the smallmouth I'd chase. Lumbering up to a hole would spook everything for either species around me.

Can't believe I'm just now watching this, you guys kicked ass with this one. I was glad this Classic was in my back yard and was able to attend it and really glad Ott won it. He's a class act and a true east Tennessean that we're all proud of. As much as I like all these guys that went to the BPT, I'm still a loyal B.A.S.S fan and always will be. I wish all the guys that went to the BPT and MLF the best, they're class acts. I have and always will feel BASS is more for the fans, I don't know, something about the weigh-in, it's the icing on the cake. Again, great job as always with the 20 FT Deep series, I've now watch them all and they're all outstanding.

I’m doing something wrong apparently. I can’t get them to eat a Covert series in three different colors with multiple trailers. But I throw any jackhammer and it’s almost every cast 2-4lbers
i just won kerr lake bfl on coangler side throwing an omega custom tackle genesis spinnerbait! i havent caught a spinnerbait fish since fall of last year but on 3/27/2021 they wanted that spinnerbait🙌🏼🙌🏼
I finished 13th out of 369 boats on Kerr in 2007 in a Rangers owners tournament throwing a spinnerbait.

In Louisiana, unlike I think every other state, navigable waters are owned by the landowner. So if you go up some bayou, off a river, you are trespassing.

Mark, how does Christie getting half his day 1 and 2 weight on day 4 and winning an Elite Series event show that he deals with pressure better than different than a golfer playing with a lead and winning the biggest tourney on the PGA Tour? The golfer had a rough stretch on a couple of holes but did exactly what he needed to do to win $2.1M. Christie did the same thing, did just enough to hang on for a win and earn $100K
Ken may be a great historian, but the dude has awful opinions. Cuts are stupid? Cuts happen in every professional sport. Also, doesnt want people cut from trails who cant perform, who have won in the past. Why let someone who cant even finish a tournament, take a capable anglers spot?

Absolutely need to stay low ratio for cranks and spinnerbaits. Most of my cranking reels are 5.4 or lower. Its easier to speed up a slower reel than slow down a fast one. Totally agree with Frank on this
Good show Mark and Frank. The Renegade Bass Tour in Canada is a popular and very competitive team tour. They have a good TV show covering it which you can watch on Waypoint TV. I agree that team tournaments are probably more fun to fish, but the point about who won the doubles at Wimbledon is a good one. I doubt a team tour would develop such a fan following compared to an individual tour, but it would be popular with the anglers.
Ken's argument that nobody would watch a team trail is inaccurate. Plenty watch the texas team trail and bass champs shows. But if he's correct then might as well cancel college fishing because that's team based so who's watching that?
I fished with KVD in 1992 and he set the 5 fish record that day at 32 something. The 5 fish record was 29 at the time. It was day one and he left a number of fish on beds that would have culled hoping to catch them the next 2 days. The water dropped and he finished 3rd. He should have beaten them up there was 36 lbs to be had for sure. Needless to say KVD impressed the hell out of me!
Ken's recall of factual history is great. His opinions are often wrong and are heavily influenced by his "day job" relationships.
I didn't hear whether Ken ever mentioned the other state that ties Texas for native residents with classic wins but I believe it's NC. (Hank Parker, David Fritts, Randy Howell, Hank Cherry) I could be wrong but I think that's accurate. The only reason I know this is because me and Randy Howell are from the same town in NC. I was just wondering the other day if there was a state that had more than that and I figured if any it would be Texas. Home of "The Hemphill Gang"!! And by the way, you're the man Ken I'm a huge fan! Great show!
